I bet fairly big to make him fold hands like K3 at least and win a bigger pot when i hit. should i just give up that idea and do the good ol' bet blockbet small don't expetc a fold give myself a good price thing?

Your play was fine, you will get paid well when you do hit, you also get value from hands like JT/QT and sometimes fold out 3's.

Against fish though, you can make weird plays like minbetting turn, or small bets, or just c/c because they oftentimes bet small themselves or check back giving you a free card. This is one way how you can exploit weaker players, they oftentimes miss value, and you can draw for cheap/free.

Of course some fish are smarter than others as well as more aggro when you show weakness. That's why it's good to accurately decipher your opponents playstyle and mindest to come up with the best play.
