Generic unknown reg, plays NL50 for a few years. No reads apart from he cbet fold 3way low dry board ( I cr him).

This is the strongest Ax I have in my range, and assuming I raise sets flushes somewhere (not sure if I should) and 3bet AQ, strongest hand I ever get to river with so folding is rly exploitable.
Problem is this is such a shit card to bluff

CO is a fish didnt know he was a whale had just 7 hands think squeeze pre is slightly better here but call should be fine, assume you did call.

Weakest hand we should call here vs unknown NL50 reg?
how do you play sets on earlier streets?

i think i'd fold this and call AQ on river (if you remove the fishiness of CO from the equation i don't think AJ has to be the strongest Ax in your range)

agree with squeezing pre once you know CO is a whale

don't like giving "it depends" answers but i think what you do with a set depends, but i guess i probably c/r with the fish in pot, assuming reg has a normal high-ish cbet%.

that said if you decide to lead flop with set (which i think is also fine) and reg calls and fish folds, a cute line could be c/c turn c/r river. he should still be betting his good Ax on turn/river when you check, and i think a line of lead flop c/c turn c/r river gets some wtf-calls.

I don't think having AJ as your strongest Ax or top pair in this spot is good preflop strategy.
