this hand is not similar to twisted's if that's what you're trying to imply. |

if he thought I should bet all streets as standard vs fish, why didn't he raise turn in his hand given the read? isnt that what he calls standard? |

the main difference is villain being the aggressor in the other hand. i mean in twisted's hand you can make a legitimate case for playing the way he did, or raising at some point, but it's a pretty reasonable line as far as keeping villain's bluffs in + not scaring the shit out of an overpair on that board being 300+bb's deep. i doubt he would be checking back turn if he had position.
in this hand, betting turn+river gets much more value from villain's Qx+draws, and probably loses a little bit of value to 9x/mid-pp's. obviously him overbet jamming with 55 is not remotely standard even for a fish. in twisted's hand, villain overbetting river was also not standard, but him betting river was.
i mean i have to think there's at least a decent chance you had a read on this player given the obvious non-standard turn check+villain's bizarre river jam. and if so that's great, but if that's the case it doesn't make sense to go "wtf is ths" (not to mention outing a fish). |
