how do u calculate that term "getting the right price on a call"?
I think that is the question I am trying to ask on this spot. |

You're getting just under 4.5:1 aren't you?
You still need to make roughly $3 on the river to be profitable.
You have $3.75 left after calling, so it's profitable if he never has AA, or any blockers. You have 7 outs vs AA and 8 if he has AdKx or something, both of which you don't profit.
So it's either a very high variance and extremely marginally profitable call, or it's an unprofitable call.
If you had like...$10 more, it'd probably a call, since you can open shove on diamonds and he'd be getting about 3:1 on a call.

say we just call ignoring the $3.75+nex street
1) Calculate % needed
On one street:
EQ Needed=Amount to call / end pot
EQ Needed=(8.25/16.50+8.25+8.25+9.60)*100
EQ Needed=(8.25/42.6)*100
EQ Needed=19%
2) Estimate his range, calculate your equity vs the range. It can be done manually but using equilab or pokerstove is faster
3) if equity>%needed =>Call
if Equity <%needed =>fold
Step 2 against unknowns should be done using discounting, say you think on average random opponents will do this 1/3times with AA (same as that 33% of people with villain's available information play AA this way 66% bet it on flop) you just include 1 combination of AA etc into stove. you can do removal using "suit selection" Equilab is better as it shows card removal and #of combos |
