Is this too risky? I feel like I was putting him on hands like AKo, AQo and I just getting it in.

A word of advice. Stop playing like this, it will stunt your growth as a poker player massively.

It was a small blind vs big blind situation, I am wondering which part of the game was flawed in this hand? I am thinking post-flop because I was going too hard with a trash hand. You think preflop was OK though? or should i have just folded in the first place? I really want to improve, and I feel like I need more guidance. I enjoy this site more than any other site because a lot of us may have starcraft background due to teamliquid. Sometimes I get advice like "should have just folded pre" and I appreciate the words but just I want to know more about why. Even if you tell me to read a book I will go do it.

Thanks!

First of all, never played starcraft. Fuck starcraft. Not really, I joined LP many years ago for a totally different reason. I understand there are many sweet things about the game, yada yada.

I said that you gotta get over this mind-set because you're posting hands that are basically bad for you in the long run. That's why you're posting them.

People typically post 'boo hoo, poor me hands' or 'look at this shit, I rocked him with a stupid hand I shouldn't have rocked him with!' and as a relatively new player (in my guess), you should be playing STRICTLY ABC poker. Nothing wrong with a qjss 3bet from the button vs an aggressive cutoff or whatever, but before you go fucking around you should know the basics.

I have numerous different 'modes' while playing. Sometimes lag, usually tag, and once in awhile super super tight. lag nets me big wins once in awhile (which encourages me to play it... and forget the losses lol), tag is usually good, sometimes great, sometimes a bit down, and super tight is boring as fuck so I don't normally play it.

You gotta learn what you feel comfortable with. What makes sense to you. Once you know what makes sense to you, you have to understand why and how you're profiting from it - and then increase it. Doesn't have to be by a massive amount, even a tiny 4bbs here and there will add massively to your overall winrate.

TLDR - Don't play like a tit at low stakes. Not the time, nor the place.

basically there's 2 problems with this,

1) is that your starting assumption is arbitrary/flawed (AK/AQ are likely make up part of his 3-betting range, but just putting him on those and excluding all other hands doesn't make sense, esp. BvB).

2) is that even if your assumption was correct, your play still wouldn't make sense. think of all the different ways you have to play out the hand. if you put him on AK/AQ, why do you think check-minraising flop, betting turn, and shoving river is the best line? i mean, try to logically justify each action.

didn't really mention preflop but just fold to the 3-bet. i have my doubts that min-opening SB v BB at 10nl is good, but if he's just folding way too much then go for it i guess. but if he's the type of player you'd want to minopen vs BvB, you probably shouldn't be wanting to call his 3-bets w/K3.
