I think if you bet turn you would know one street earlier that he had a monster hand

the things you did wrong are sitting with 50bb's and not betting the turn, you should have lost more money this hand.

I read the entire Annie Duke book (Decide to play great poker) and she said a lot of times that betting turn for no reason is bad because you leave yourself vulnerable to a reraise / checkraise, and it's better to check check to fight about it on turn. I don't feel like that's a good idea since people often times see that as weakness when you are trying to show strength, and you will often times lose the lead (if you check and they raise you have to reraise to not get fucked, and then you are fucked since you reraised). But like I don't know do I don't accept that advice but instead go bet the turn every time?

Also I usually go with 4xBB raise preflop to make sure there aren't a bunch of pocket pairs calling (and this time 5xBB since two callers), I'm trying to filter out pocket pairs by giving them bad odds but it doesn't seem to work, do I just accept the fact that pocket pairs will call? What if I'm in his position, should I call that 5xBB bet with 88? It's less than 1/8 to hit trips on flop (right?) and getting paid on average 8x 4BB feels unreasonable (1,60$)

Reason I'm sitting on 50BB is because it's my safety net, I'm still learning poker and value cheap learning over actual profit and don't want to buy in with more than 50BB unless I get a strong motivation to (I don't even know what I would use those extra chips for except giving them away when I lose allins lol)

New player, advice appreciated

Thing is that you weren't betting for no reason though. You were betting because you had 3 of a kind A's. If the other guy had raised you on the turn you would have known that your hand is at the middle zone and you need to make a decision real quick (since villain limped then called pre and called flop, you know he had at least sort of pair, be it aces or pocket pairs) (I read Annie Duke's Middle Zone) Not betting turn here is pretty much giving up.

Side note though, you should start doing max buy-ins. You will have more leverage to work with.

just my .02
