Villain is 59/3 fish . Haven't seen what he donk shoves with like this before. He doesn't seem over aggro. I expect to see straights a lot here when he shoves into 4 people but he can also have overpairs and 2 pair type hands . Is anyone folding here?

I am playing this style because these games are full of fish. I don't play the same way in tougher games.

feels to me that villain could have A5. I would like to know the reasoning behind the calling, since pot odds weren't great, at all

Villain is a huge whale. He is doing this with shit like 55+, random 2 pairs, a set, maybe even 4x, Ax, 5x, and yes, A5. How many of those hands beat us?

If you arent celebrating when a 60bb obvious fish does this to you, you got the wrong mindset. Ok so he got the straight this time, Trav94s range + a bunch of flushdraws is much more likely.

this...
if he has a straight good for him you still have good equity, but if he has something stupid/drawing you are making a huge mistake by folding

new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...

Snap-call and dance, don't be results oriented.

You can theoretically fold this if you are 100% sure he only does this with a straight, but you don't know that.

Remember, he is a FISH, he plays terrible and hemorrhages money.

What's wrong with his stats? Too tight?

22/14 shows me that you're not attacking blinds when it's folded to you on the button.

You're not isolating fish IP with marginal hands.

I mean, ya, playing nitty can net money, but it's certainly not optimal unless you're on like 12+ tables.

Mariuslol   Norway. Mar 10 2014 11:36. Posts 4742

AF too low, 3B too low, the spread between vpip too large.

And the stats don't matter that much, you can have 24/19 and be awesome, have the same stat and be really poo

devon06atX   Canada. Mar 10 2014 12:04. Posts 5459

Sorry for my rude comment. Yeah, this is a snapakangaroodunkathontroncall. I just get tilted when people throw up hands that are obviously a call/whatever, but they question it because they're being results oriented.

You do have skewed pfr compared to typical winners. Goose wrote a good post explaining whats up with that.

Thanks to those that answered my question and for not talking to me like I'm some kind of peasant.

I call without thinking too much about it in a spot like this vs villain. I just recently started playing poker again after a long hiatus and just wanted to hear other's viewpoints to make sure I'm on the right track. Yes, I know his value range is larger than straights and if he has the latter I still have good equity. Yes, I know he can have some retarded hands here. Yes, I have a brain and am snap calling. Apparently by asking a question just to hear some thoughts about a spot, I get plenty of opinions about how terrible I am instead lol.

Maybe you guys are right that I am bad, but I've never claimed to be an amazing player.

Feel free to elaborate about how awful my play was. Some kittens probably died because I played the way I did, and I made Jesus cry, etc, etc

yea i am not the greatest but i dont give advice higher than i play...this actually is higher than i play now but i can say i am better player even when i am at nl 10-16. This guy probably doesnt even win and if he does its just a run. With this style it wouldnt be profitable to play nl 10 at stars. It is just waste of time to play like this and invest my 26737 which has to be some decent hours cause on Boos people do not multitable that much.I feel like ai am looking at me from 5 years ago.

you had the nuts and bet preflop, flop and turn, so pretty obv its the river that is bad, easiest shove of all time

this hand reminds me of that kid in class who at the end reminds the teacher she forgot to assign us homework

lol at all the random hate this hand is getting, sure it's a call but it's not exactly common to get shoved into for 5x the pot on this flop, and there's nothing wrong with stepping back making sure you made the right play in such a bizarre spot. seriously have you guys looked at the hh section, people have been posting worse hands than this everyday lol.

what's the point in posting hands where you know you are right tho besides boosting ego? Posting hands you didn't play badly or are unsure of is illogical

And Lemon posting this hand has got absolutely zero to do with anything about ego. Maybe it could be good for pleasure, if you're masochistic and enjoy being berated

you sluts dont get me, I'm critiquing the critics - as OP is unsure this is the hand he should post. When someone asks a question and people reply "lol why post this so obvious" now that's dumb.

^Wow thanks for quoting that redrain. Totally missed that reply.

r0mx0 thanks for the wonderful dose of humor. This is really the best thing I've read all day. I already said why my preflop stats over this sample are where they are but I feel no obligation to justify it to you because you have no clue how these games play.

But what do I know, I'm just a Boss Media fish who is on a hot run and "can't beat 10NL on Stars". Just kidding. I crush PS 10NL all day and no one really gives a shit that you think you're better than me. I bet you are. But I didn't spend 5 years at 10NL. I must be on a run

But thanks for stopping by and for giving me a good chuckle.
