well if he is just not folding, you aren't getting much more from it if he makes the flush/straight. I think it is good to check back vs ppl like these who are just chasing gutshots.

maybe you could shove turn? i am not sure, maybe i am not helping here.

But he doesn't make the draw as often as he misses so I lose value when he misses the river by not betting turn. What the fuck kind of advice are you trying to give me here

goose58   United States. Mar 16 2014 23:35. Posts 871

Well, you can never fold this river for this size, he can do this with 2pair.

Your flop raise was too small, you gave him good odds(not that it matters, his hand was good enough to ship the flop).

This board is super drawy, so your raises should be much larger. You want to get the most money possible in before the draws hit.

On the flop, the pot is 2.70 and you raised to 1.50 more, to 4.20 before his call. So he had to call 1.50 to win 5.70 = 26%

A pot size raise on the flop would be 2.70+.70= 3.40 which is a ways away from 2.20.

I like a raise to at least 2.7 total, but whatever.

As played, on the turn, bet bigger too, 3/4 pot bet is is 4.25, so something around that, you want to punish him.

If you raised the flop bigger, you could probably just ship the turn.

Other than that it's just a cooler because both of your hands are big.

ok, I have played against people like this, and some of them is like, no matter how much you put in, they are going to call. This guy must be like "yo i got almost 20 outs i must be good here most of the time" and just gambles with you. The more I think about this, the more I am leaning towards checking behind against THIS kind of player.

I WANT HIM TO CALL. Why check the turn if I WANT A CALL. Why would I want to give his draws a free card. I should have just bet bigger like Goose said to charge those draws even more. Checking the turn is horrible.

If your opponent will call your bet no matter what size, going allin is the best and most profitable play. The more chips going in as the equity the favorite, the merrier.

if anything, bigger turn bet, not a hand you should waste energy on after that =p move along

Achoo   Canada. Mar 17 2014 02:14. Posts 1454

If he keeps calling, adjust your bet sizing vs him, a bit bigger for value, don't ever bluff but keep semi-bluffing, obviously you want position on him. This hand is std, nothing to worry about, on the long run he's dead meat.

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not
