Villain plays 23/19 and he is reg

From Equilab:

Board: Ah 9s 8s 7s 4c
Equity Win Tie
CO 80.08% 79.09% 1.00% { AJs }
BB 19.92% 18.92% 1.00% { 66+, A4s+, K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, A9o+, KTo+, QTo+ } ===> I am putting him on 19% range

pot odds is 6.35 / 2.30 = 3 to 1 ish

then i am lost lol

I know nothing about poker but isn't it kinda relevant to also remove some hands on the bottom of his range since he called you on flop and raised you on river? That should strengthen his range right?

Edit: When I think about it if anything we should remove some hands on the top of his rang instead since he played pretty weak postflop. But what do I know maybe it's too hard to remove ranges here postflop since it's kind of a passive turn of events

New player, advice appreciatedLast edit: 17/03/2014 23:28

Exactly. He called a 5x raise preflop just like me, so it is kind of hard to remove any of the ranges. I used his PFR for his range instead of his normal VPIP. Not sure if that's how it works either.

that is true.. I need to start folding these. I have been folding a fair bit of them already, compared to like a week or two ago.

Why do you keep switching between 6m and full ring.

umm, I play on a bitcoin poker site with only 400 people active most of the time.. Didn't have much of a choice on table selection. generally i avoid full ring as much as i can

Putting him on more precise range: suited ace or connectors that may have gotten two-pair by river:

Board: Ah9s8s7s4c
Equity Win Tie
CO 21.43% 20.40% 1.02% { AcJc }
BB 78.57% 77.55% 1.02% { A2s+, KQs, QJs, 97s+, 87s, AQo+ }

while pot odds is 6.35 / 2.30 = 3 to 1 ish

which is not a profitable call.
