why? Q is the only bad turn for us and we block that as well as having some showdown eq.

Why? Because he'll fold a bunch of shit = yaay we win.

And we show initiative. And we bloat the pot for when we hit.

Basically because I think it's a massively +ev play.

Stupid hypothetical - someone raises from cutoff, you call on button with j10hh, bb also calls. Flop comes q96, 2 hearts. Checked to you. Do you bet? I do. All day long.

Perhaps it doesn't relate, but it's how I look at poker.

Yep, I definitely bet this flop

how is that an argument to not bet? :O

@devon: In your example I def bet. That's because we have massive eq but no showdown value. In Lem's example we have a decent draw+overcards but only three kings will really make villain inclined to let us cooler him for his stack. Ks or 9x will not make villain stack off that easily.

I like checking because were often against a weaker ace, but if we are against a lower pair we have a LOT of outs.

An if were only looking at this range-wise. AQo is probably the stone cold bottom of lem's range. I would think he's not calling A9-2 there pre. I dont think hes calling suited connectors lower than 87s pre. Every other hand is a pair or AK. So range wise we should check because were at the bottom of our range.

@spitfire: Because our bet accomplishes many folds from hands we beat already but almost never folds out hands we cannot beat.
