he was pretty strong on the flop but suddenly bet really small (feels prtty weak), so decided to jam and worked out. Is this a good line to take?

I completely understand where you're coming from and thinking like this is very important in some ways... but to answer your question...

not really, you're risking 1.64 to win 0.98c on the flop so you need to be right almost 2/3 times assuming that when you're called you're very likely to be dead.

The fact that he bet tiny on the turn could be an induce or many other things, it felt like in this hand you were pretty sure you were winning so decided to shove (right? I assume you're not thinking he's got queens and is likely to fold?) Which I think is somewhat reasonable if you have a read or something about the player but he could be trapping or betting like an Axs hand like this.. It could be a pair and fd or sd/fd combo which we are doing well against but its not like we're crushing.

It is obvious to say that if you do this kind of thing very often then you are going to be super exploitable in this spot to anyone paying attention, not saying that anyone is at 2 nl...

Hope this made some sense and helped

EDIT: Also large bluffs at 2NL will NOT be profitable in general.

poker is soooo much easier when you flop setsLast edit: 10/06/2014 12:25

Right. Betting small means that he could have a very strong hand. As played though you think it is best to just fold turn?

+1 to keylek's post

as played i'd call rather than fold. his bet is so small that we'll occasionally have the best hand, and if not we have our 5 outs and a chance to bluff river
