I highly doubt he has a10s. A nit doesn't call an open from an utg raiser with that imo.
he's most likely got a set. I don't see how his raise is 'so big' anyway, he potted it. I'd pot it too on that board heh. Shitty thing about calling is you know he's gonna pound the hell out of the turn with those sets - so if you feel like gambling, it's better to get it in now as opposed to calling flop raise then check-folding on non spade/queen turns.
I suppose the 'right' play would be to fold, but f that haha. Too bad you guys weren't super deep, a flat would be super sexy. |

Although - it's $5 to win his stack if you hit on the turn. I dunno.
Lets say 11 outs, ~23% chance of improving on turn. 5$ to potentially win ~27$ (providing we stack him, which we will if he has what we think).
I guess it's a call? I'd make life easier and just shove it tbh. |

i'd widen his range a bit, more PP's in there. i'd be more inclined to fold, but I'd never call here.
maybe 66-tt, maybe, maybe jj. I'd give him At and Aj, kt, qt, and maybe something else. I think he's putting you on the ace and that you'd be likely to fold your ace if this guy thinks he can rep a set. if he does have a set, he's certainly got reason to push you off of a draw. with a slight underbet, he's probably inducing action from you.
anyway, fold or shove, never call.
has this player ever called in the blinds with hands like 54s? I still think you might want to widen his range here. |

fold if you dont wanna gamble, shove if you're running good so far. cant really have fixed rules how to play in these spots, especially vs a nit - you know hes got at the very worst two pair here with a raise that big. nits could have 78s tho. |
