In a vacuum once you call 2.40 there will be 8.39 so you divide 2.40 by 8.39 which gives you roughly 24% needed.

this is in a vacuum, the equity you realize will not equal direct equity and you need to account for implied odds, reverse implied odds, bluff equity etc. Which is impossible to get exactly and you need to do some guesstimating when deciding your calling ranges unless it's on the river
