This guy is a super nit; hate to give him action. Hard to see you doing anything differently though except possibly (and i think you should) fold to the river raise. |

If villain wanted to bluff river I don't think he would do it with a c/r because most of the hands that he would be looking to fold (AK, Ax, small pairs) would just check back. So if he bluffs he just shoots a 2nd barrel on river. Only way he could be bluffing imo is if he decided to give up but then just spazzed after you bet 2. I highly doubt villain is making an advanced play where he knows you call a river barrel with Jx unless it is a monster overbet so he goes for the C/R instead for max FE (Especially considering a c/r might not even fold out Jx, it didn't fold out AJ here).
His river play then is as simple as it looks at first glance. He checks his monster oop on flop which is standard (many have no leading range at all here). Now the pot is small and villain only has the turn and river to work with. Bet Bet for value wins a small to medium pot but villain wants as much as possible with his full house so he goes for the c/r on the river instead of just leading |

doesnt matter if villain is nitty, unless he s mega spazzer its an instant fold river , he needs to bluff 1/3 times to be profitable call |

Player3 raises [$10.25 USD]
he has no reason to bluff this big in this pot ever without the nuts.
he wants max value from what u actually have.
believe these bets, fold and move on. way better spots to get money in. |

That was a solid post Trax, thanks.
I've thought about check-raising as a bluff with a hand that that has showdown value against their checking range but not their betting range. Never thought about check raising to get people off of hands that would usually just call a bet though; I usually have just lead-out bluffed bigger instead. I often overbet my strongest value hands on the river though, so maybe that balances my value range better. |
