why are you playing such horrendous hands?

edit - I don't know much about plo, but from the limited that I do know (from watching some plo videos from deucescracked) I find you play lots and lots of garbage hands. I may be wrong.. not trying to needle, just a question.

Preflop is standard as it gets, he has a good hand. Double suited with an ace and decent connectedness. Folding this on the button would be horrendous.

That said you aren't quite as strong on the flop as it might seem. Call flop

I've only watched two series on plo so far, but they both repeatedly say how garbage these kinds of hands are. Maybe these videos are too old, or the games have turned upside down in the years that passed, I dunno.

As for the decent connectedness - huh? yeah, we have one nut draw, one mediocre.. and a couple high cards - I don't think that constitutes a coordinated hand? I put the question mark there because I'm not sure, but it's my understanding.

Also under the impression opening utg with a hand that has 1 nut, and 1 third nut isn't a winning move. Button, yeah, def raise. utg? nooooooo. Again, I've played less than 5k hands, just watched a couple series. Maybe I'm thinking too 'fundamentally'.

edit - to be honest, even the 'hard' rules that the coaches are talking about don't seem to be all too hard while they're actually playing... beats me

If i was cut-off or button I'd always be opening this. In terms of first certainly not always. Chalk that up to playing 3.5k hands yesterday.

As played I think the flop is fairly acceptable. Calling flop is probably just as good seeing as we have position, if not better.

connectedness in that it can hit some straights and flop some gutshots and stuff that can give you a little equity. Obviously its not like highly connected capable of making wraps and what not. It isn't the best hand I wouldn't coldcall an ep open with it. I would open it unopened in most positions, UTG depends on the table but yea probably
