How much does he 3bet, cbet 3bet pot, goes to SD etc..? I really dont like this as his value range should be huge, and i doubt he shoves enough shit to be fine calling off w 88

Wed been playing on a couple tables a while and he had started getting aggressive with me. Noticed him do this before where I let it go but realized this was not how he was getting the money in when he had a real hand with the small bets and river over bet so I think his range is mostly bluffs here.

But no, if he was playing his real hands this way for value to I don't think I can ever call river.

I mean, its possible I'm wrong and he is doing this for value a lot of the time. I haven't really played poker in 5 years and am sure I have some major leaks to find and plug but when I do have a read I probably ought to trust it

Wouldn't it be better to lead out on the flop or check-raise? His bet is so small, check calling it when there are many cards that in the deck that will complicate the hand for you seems odd to me unless you think his barreling frequency is just way too high.

Maybe. I think if I check raise I turn my hand into a bluff. When he three bets pre flop and I decide to call I have to either think he has a very strong hand and I'm getting odds to draw to a set or a very wide range of hands that hell play improperly post flop. In this case I thought the latter. I've also noticed that he tends to make these small 3 bets from position with light three bets but larger raises with legitimate three betting hands. Check raise bluffing him on the flop here is probably a +ev decision but when I played the hand I did think he was ready to go off and chose to call down

The thing is hands like AT-AK and KJ-KQ are legit hands that have actually flopped decently here that are annoying to fold on this relatively dry board. Even if he is behind with them (which he of course is in this case), he'd still like to see the run-out to realize his equity, and it's harder to know where you are in the hand when overcards come off. If he is always folding hands like AK here to your flop raise (which I often think would be a bad fold here), I really don't think that is that bad for you especially since you are out of position and would pay off more easily to turned or rivered hands than you would get paid (unless you have a specific read on him and you thought his triple barrel frequency would be exploitable high). Also, if he is in fact folding all combos of overcards to your raise, you could raise the flop and shut down if he 3-bets or calls. That way if he actually had something like KK or AQ here you wouldn't have just shipped him all the chips.

I just think raising the flop makes the play of the hand less complicated I guess. Without data I would probably raise/call flop to around $3, then jam turn unless an Ace peels.
