No reads... I think I beat everything he can possibly have here except J9 or AA? Wouldn't most sets raise flop, except maybe AA? Maybe not, unkowns/fish like to slowplay? This spot confused me a lot. |

Can't see how this is a snapshove. He overbets and without a read I guess it's more often oriented towards value. When you shove you are not going to get called by worse, maybe stubborn AT or A8 but I doubt it's often enough to justify shoving as he has every J9 there if he defends it. Call and take a note. Maybe it's even a fold vs some people who never overbet bluff.
Also automatically assuming people fastplay their sets and taking them out of their range is a mistake. Maybe he perceived your weak bet as weakness and didn't want to scare you off. Do you also cbet this flop this weak with your valuehands ? |

For the most part against people I have few hands on I'll bet weaker with weak holdings, and bet bigger with valuehands. Obviously I'm aware that's very exploitable, but why balance my cbetting sizes against people who won't exploit it? Might as well risk as little as possible with a bluff, and get as much value as possible with strong hands. |

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen | |

shoving seems suicidal to me, no one overbet bluffs this spot often enough.
J9/TT/88/A7/87 are all on his range. With both the Ad and Td there are very few flushdraw combos he could be turn into bluffs. |

uhh prob call, overbets are weird
only reason to possibly shove is because its 5NL and people are clicking buttons |

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same | Last edit: 28/10/2014 13:20 |

this
i'd call especially if we're readless, seeing what hand he has here gives you a ton of info on his thought process. this doesn't seem like a common spot for an overbet, since you can have a lot of Ax hands that pot-controlled on turn |
