Only 9 hands on villain, but appears to be a passive fish... idk if this river raise is good when he donks? Also should have bet bigger on turn obviously. |

In vaacum I don't like this shove and as you don't have any relevant info after 9 hands, I think river is a flat.
After seeing line donk , check/call, donk and backdoor flush getting there you should be at least suspicious as it seems like all hearts combos are very much in his range. Also 43 and 97 got there and if he is a fish you have to put it in his range. I think more often than not when you get called, you will get shown a hand that beats you and it would seem weird for him to play a naked 5 like this. Sure the river bet seems like block bet but also like he wants value from his hand so I wouldn't autoshove here happily. |

i'm confused... are we bluffing or valueshoving?
it seems like he will fold anything worse and call anything better, esp if he's a passive fish. he might fold the straight but... i feel like our hand is too strong to turn into bluff
i agree with flat |

lol, was exactly my thoughts when looking at the hand :D I thought it might be a good bluff against nit, then read the description. "Value"shove here without strong read is going to be spew |

If he is a fish this feels like a blocker bet with an 8. Its been my experience that fish have trouble bet folding here even if that's what they set out to do.
Also flop donk is consistent with lots of 8's. |

he tanked for 5 seconds, afraid of the flush - then called with straight to the 6 |

i don't really like the term fish tbh, it's too broad and basically means 'a player who i think plays worse than me.'
however labeling someone as passive will lead me to believe he's not leading over half pot with top pair on a 3flush + straight board |
