I was thinking about this one a bit afterwards. I mean we have 36% in the near worst case scenario, at least he isn't blocking any clubs and we're blocking 1 FH out), but at the same time we're still almost 1.5 buy-ins deep so maybe it's not all that straightforward to just go with it vs. this particular opponent.
He's a relatively medium-tight player though something like 27/17/6. So I was trying to think what's in his 17% and has some low board coverage (given what we have). We're good to go vs any rundown /w FD, 2P, or TP+FD type hands... really set and in his case pretty much only ever QQxx is what we'd worry about.
When he puts his raise in we've already got 25% of our stack in, and if we'd bet bigger like 13-15 then I suppose the decision gets easier.
At present we put in 52.20 more to win a pot of 139.65 so 2.67:1. We needed 2.77:1 with 36% for this to be breakeven. So not much of a mistake I guess even in the worst case scenario, and when you factor in the other possible scenarios I guess that just becomes a snap call and move on even as much as 1.5 buy-ins deep. |
