river: was trying to think of the best way to rep a bluff. he seemed to have a 7 so i would never try to bluff him with a size like $8

doesnt matter much in the end. if you put him on a 7 he'll raise you the rest of what you don't put in and its not like you are suddenly folding.
this probably gets you a bit more value if you know hes calling and raising with the 7, instead of just raising. does that make sense? for like the times you bet 10 and he calls, versus putting in his last X. or if you bet the 8 and he calls, ya know? getting max value in event of the call.
