i prefer to flat pre instead of 4bet, use a hand like A8o for that. this hand plays so well postflop + IP + high SPR
postflop... eh, idk. dont feel too strongly about it i guess |

Those were the reasons I thought I wanted to have this in my 4-betting range. If I 4-bet with A8o and he calls, I think the hand will be hard to play since I am just as likely to be playing with a dominated hand, but with this one I will sometimes flop straight and flush draws that will make it good for multiple barrels. |

if we 4bet this, there are some downsides such as risk being 5bet, and decreasing SPR. with A8o we are hoping he doesnt call, and if he does, we have to enter give-up mode on many boards. give-up mode while IP is not that bad, we are almost guaranteed a free card since he will always check flop.
it also depends on his reaction to 4bets, if hes more likely to call then A5s may be a better 4bet, whereas if he's 5bet or fold type, i would def 4bet A8o and flat A5s |

Even if we were in 'give up mode', wouldn't it be better to have A5s? It seems that A5s and A8o are both weak enough hands that it isn't hurting us much if we 4 bet and then have to fold to a raise.
Right now this is what I'm normally 4-betting with
4bet 11.8% (This is for normal pot-sized 3 bet. If faced with larger than normal 3-bet (or stacks significantly under 200bb), take out AJ, and the 2 gapped suited connectors)

i would say A5s is too strong to 4bet fold, like arguably a better hand to have than A9s or even KQs, though i prob wouldnt 4bet those either
hmm my 4bet range vs unknown is probably something like:
TT+
AKo/AKs
some A2o-A9o
some random KX
for A2o-A9o, since there are so many combos, i use a random number generator to decide when i'm going to 4bet, so that i'm not doing it too often (unless i want to do it too often for whatever reason). an easier way to do this is to just 4bet A2o-A5o and fold A6o-A9o
i like to keep my 4bet range extremely polarized and have blocker hands to his AKo. by polarized i mean either premium hands or "bad" hands that play extremely poorly postflop (essentially blocker trash). this is my default strategy vs someone who is folding to a lot of 4bets. vs someone who calls a lot of 4bets i'd change it up depending on how often he's 3betting |
