i would prefer to flat this turn, i dont see the value in raising as we might scare away his bluffs and our hand isn't strong enough to raise for value. |

Fairly basic principle of poker to follow until you're good enough to diverge:
Air: Cbet on good boards that makes a lot of people fold, otherwise c/f.
Weakish (strongest hands you don't want to call with, usually gutters and blockers etc): Best hands to bluff with.
Marginal: Betting needs reasoning. Raising is almost always bad.
Monster: Do whatever it takes to get the money in, usually villain dependant.
You're raising with a marginal hand. This is terrible without a read. Since you're wondering if it's good, it's likely you didn't have a read to go off of. Don't do it. |
