what do you mean ? too strong or not, it is a bluffcatcher.
Anyway, you are capped and he is not and without any info on how he plays or your history it is impossible to have any idea about what bluffs does he have on the river and how eager is he to turn something into bluff knowing you are capped. But i wouldn't bet on him trying to bluff you off an 8 which you play exactly this way and would probably give him credit for AA or the stubborn KK , but maybe you have some info which makes it a call.

Ran the hand through Simple Postflop (A GTO program) and it looks like this hand is getting called at some frequency and folded at some frequency, but mostly folded (Roughly 65% folded 35% called) |

not a bluffcatcher if he does this with AK (which his line looks like more than AA/KK - if he makes the mistake of c/r river) |

hero also has 8888, 222, 888AA so I wouldn't say he is exactly capped while villain is not; more like hero is just missing a few of the hands out of the very top while villain can have them. It's not like the spot you normally use the term indicating there is a absolute line above which hero has no better value hands and can thus be wholly exploited. |

I think this is never a bluff.. if it is a bluff he is turning a hand like 33-77 into a bluff.
Their is small possibility he has AK, and a slightly bigger possibility of him having KK and AA..
I think I would fold and be fairly happy about it. If he has AK he would try to maximize value from Ax and he would c/r smaller. |

This calling range is indicative of a bluffcatcher calling versus a balanced range (which villain may or may not have here) |

If you guys are in villain's shoes are you able to restrain yourselves to river flats? |

If I was in villain's shoes and I consider hero a fish, I would check raise river with AK. But if I have no info on villain and he is triple barreling this board with me holding AK and looking at his bet sizes then river is a flat. |

Yeah, certainly exploitation (if done correctly) will net you more than GTO, but I think it's interesting to see how both players play when they're playing at (or very near to) Nash. Villain is check raising AK (and K2 is the other bluff that's quite heavily weighted) as a bluff in the GTO solution lol... and hero isn't even value betting any Ax when bet sizing is set @ 50% flop and 75% turn and river, which is roughly the same as in the hand. Obviously how the hand plays out can change drastically if preflop ranges or postflop bet sizing is changed |
