Fira and I have started a little 5000 hand heads-up challenge against each other. We just played 1000 today. I had been messing with my river sizing and over-bet frequency, so I am posting all hands from the session that I potted or more on river for us to discuss.
I think he is 4-betting stronger aces than ace jack, although in this case I'm behind sets of 55 and probably 88 as well (he just called a 3-bet with 88 before), so I can't exactly say I'm polarized, although the bet size is really just a pot sized bet. Can I value target all the weaker aces in his range with this sizing? |

i like this, it's a spot where i should be bluff catching a LOT, since 3bettor has reduced Ax combos with 2 of em on the board, and pretty much every draw missed. could see myself calling with a hand as weak as 8x.
i had the 5cXc though, decided not to call with the clubs. did think about check/shoving turn... since the 2nd ace kills some of my outs. hmm |

Shoving the turn certainly gets me off of draws and big pairs, although my 3-bet range is fairly ace heavy so it might just be punting chips into trip aces a bit too often to be profitable. That would be my guess, but I'm not sure. |
