One of the hands from the last session of one of my headsup challenge matches. Not used to playing against someone with a PF limping range. |

yea I just don't like this. He is repping a gutshot that hit on the turn and you have no boats. If he folded 78 I think it is bad of him. |

ya i agree with just call, the only value hands we rep here are flushes like K2h. we should not have many boats at all after flop and turn action |

Flop lead seems wrong to me; I'd think this kind of hand I'd want in my checking range. Not used to playing against a limp though.
First, I'm not sure I like calling river. Wouldn't this be closer to a fold than to a call? I don't think he has any hands that are worse that he is raising for value, so seems like I'd be bluff catching if I call at river.
I was actually hoping he would fold a flush or a straight, not just a straight. He can have plenty of flushes here, so if he is calling my overbet with any flush seems like a bad spot to bluff. I'm not even sure what boats I have here; 99, maybe T9 (though I don't think I'd play T9 like this usually). I was just thinking that he is raising for value with maybe all straight and flush combos, and I have one of the best hands full-house blocking hands I could possibly have (but can only beat a bluff). |

we do have a good blocker hand but we can't really utilize it because we don't have many value hands in our range. we can't really have 99, TT, or JJ because those would prob raise pre or bet at some point, and 66, T6, JT, T9 are most likely betting either flop or turn. so we are just repping the off chance that we check/called a 2pair or set on turn. would expect this play to be very bluff heavy.
i think this hand is somewhat close to the top of our range in hand strength, the only better hands seem to be either AhXh or KhXh, basically hands that had both SDV and draw equity to check/call turn. however i'm not sure if nut flush wants to bet/jam here. we could just not have a bet/jam range because of how few boats we have.
also i agree with neilly, betting turn seems good after flop checks through. we prob have the best hand, and it needs protection. when we bet turn and then bet river, we can 3bet bluff vs a raise much more credibly, because with a turn betting range we can easily have hands like JT, T6, T9 by the river |
