sweet hand wp

were u calling it off when shoved on and feel this raise looks stronger than just straight shipping it in?

Villain should be calling very wide, no?

I knew a man once who said; Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back.

dont really like this... would just call the initial raise with this hand esp being button, the blinds joining in would be cool

i think i would prefer a jam or call range versus that 4bet size (our hand would be an easy call). we can't really 5bet any more than minimum and i don't like the min5bet (unless of course villain is capable of folding to such sizes).

my reasoning for 3betting pre was that the original opener was a massive fish and it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to flat, get squeezed by one of the competent players and have to call along with the fish in position but I would prefer to keep the pot HU vs the fish and not bother with the competent player

in retrospect, I think I would've like a 5bet jam better with these stack sizes just because a lot of regs at these stakes probably think along the lines of this:

which is really bad and unless you can be extremely confident of me being light in this spot, you shouldn't be doing anything but folding hands that you are being light with pre

Assuming we give him what I think is a reasonable 6bet jamming range of JJ+/AKo+ we still don't have quite 30% equity vs that. I am not very well versed in math so if I am totally off here, someone correct me but if he were to jam, we would have to call 125 more into a total pot of 275.
125/275 = 0.454545 which equates to us needing roughly 45% equity to call? So obviously in order for us to have anywhere near this amount of equity, villain has to be 6bet jamming some bluffs which at these stakes, I just don't think there are many regs, if any that are capable of doing this without some extreme dynamic

your math is way off? you'd have to call 125 more into a total pot of like, $405.. you both have 200 so clearly the pot can't end up being 275.

that's really close to 30.

ok, yeah i'm stupid. i don't know why I didn't add the remaining 125 of my stack to the total pot, so it ends up coming out to me needing 30.8% to call? and my hand has like a bit over 28% vs the range I previously listed i think?

so it's definitely close but still probably a fold. i should pick a hand with worse equity to min-5bet or just 5bet jam to begin with probably
