About the 99 hand not even being close... well, that's just your opinion, man. I'm expecting argumentation and certainly not just your word for it.
What I saw in that thread was a few people giving valid reasoning for just a call and most people saying raise without any reasoning at all. Quote for me one person who gave a reason for raising .
Also there was one dude who offered nothing but his discomfort with how easily this should be a raise, even though he hasn't played poker for years. I'm allowed to poke fun at that too

Idk how you came up with the ego/rationality stuff, what's happening here is different estimations on the same problem, based on different experience.
Especially when I said that on the 99 hand I did raise river and now I think that I shouldn't have, how could this possibly be about ego??

That line in lebowski's hand is not AK virtually ever. He is repping AA/KK/AIR (and may have some 5x I hadn't looked at the hand in a few days bit my first instinct was no) with that overbet and may actually be polarized to the point raising river is not profitable.

Most of the people that used to post and don't now quit playing or suck these days. Believe it or not as far as public forums go this is actually the last spot to discuss hands at all afaik. 2+2 is dead and other than that it is all Skype. I'd gladly play all old posters on this site HU other than a few still actives

And there is a specific reason this one (forum) continues despite the fact it is nobody's primary educational source or even that at all. A lot of people had a common interest in gaming, get along with each other, and enjoy keeping it going. It isn't some forum with randoms posting; people know each other to some extent. Not sure what is up with all the sensitivity though.

Ya. This. I don't give a flying fuck about SC, or TL, or asian chicks. And I'm only decent at poker. I saw someone quit ~3 weeks ago because someone said something only slightly rude to them... Maybe it was one of the play money players? Can't remember right now.

I think there's some fairly good discussion on a lot of hands that get posted (Smuft hands, Marshall hands, Midian hands almost always get good replies).

and people don't really do it much anymore but you can always post a hand in the HH section and you will probably get advice from a few decent winning players, more than you can say about most places.

I really like the people on this site as a whole :-)
