theres a certain level of nostalgia over this hand from the days where many of us identified with the name hero.

I thought it was facebook for a second and was thinking about clicking love. I have to spend less time on that site. Some of it's cool and nice to keep in touch but too much information vomit smorgasbord.

Anyways, nice to see you posting and nice hand.

Sick hand, river thoughts?

traxamillion   United States. Jul 24 2016 04:03. Posts 10468

Just doesnt have much value after flatting bb? Calls ur raise with all 2pair and 3bets AJ so only can have 22 maybe 77 that will sometimes play differently flop/turn and probably just calls ur river raise anyways?

The call of the shove seems pretty straightforward actually.

Yeah, this happens in 0.02/0.05 NL all the time Lem0n. Anyone remember the 5nl and 5knl same play picture ?

Guess only hand you lose to should be T9ss, and if he's crazy T9o. You block T9cc. I suppose he could have 88 and jam since you never have AA/JJ. Your raise could rep 88, in which case, he should flat 22, 77.

Edit: 88 flats since you could rep straight as well.

when you're a longple if you think long and hard enough, your bluff can become a bluff catcher

Would longple raise rivered 2 pair vs pot bet size? Otherwise pretty insane to try to bluff a guy repping 88/straight after you've potted river and got raised (+with the worst blockers ever)
crazy games indeed

i get it, if you think long(!) and hard!

fwiw I think he is def the bigger hero out of the two of us here. Im basically just a delusional optimist that sometimes for what ever reason belives in these thoughts (wich always are random and comes from nowhere based on nothing) that says that he might have a bluffingrange in this spot.

it seems to me he could choose some better hands to bluff river with in this spot but heroic heart in going for it regardless!

At first i was like what the fuck
Then I actually read the hand again and it did make sense except him flatting that particular hand, if he s playing it , should be in 3bet range no?

Do you still get excited if you hit sets or get AA pre?
fuck I wish I had your attitude and frame of mind when playing poker, it just seems so exciting to read hands like you guys Andrewsong, Longple etc
I know realize how little I really learned playing poker before, I can't even consider myself an average player now lol

emotional levels not comparable to the saltiness of having AA on the bb and both lag tards on btn and sb folding preflop though

It's hands and discussion like these that make me want to play poker again.

Highcard   Canada. Jul 30 2016 18:37. Posts 5428

typing out and deleting strategy is the worst. Anyways, there are lots of hands that villain wants to bluff and because of that he has to be shoving wider than you nits think. All that matters is if they guy knows how exploitable longple is from gto. Longple's call is part of the gto play. If longple is your avg nit, than yes he can only be calling a very tight range and extremely rare bluff with 8x stuff

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

Highcard   Canada. Jul 30 2016 18:46. Posts 5428

in regards to the 53s shove, unless longple is extremely far from gto, than it is the wrong hand to bluff, it can still work but works a lot less and is a poor choice.
