expected bluff range except 78s here?

punix   Germany. Jan 09 2017 09:02. Posts 406

read on him otherwise i think this calldown looks questionable. isnt his 3b range beating you quite frequently with this runout ?

Spitfiree   Bulgaria. Jan 09 2017 14:15. Posts 9634

thats why im asking, even his bluffing range hits except 78s, obviously Kx K6s type of hands wouldnt be played the same way

Like many other regs he likes to triple barrel on good runouts when opponent is capped, and I assume he would also bet a2s-a5s on the turn and also bet them on the river. If his 3bet range contains KQo or not makes a huge difference, but if my assumptions are correct he's overbluffing either way.

Don't know how you say your range is capped. Don't you have JJ/66/44/QJ/KJ there by the river? I mean this is a nice result at the end but this calldown for me is just meh.
You have a club, you don't block any of his value hands and even if he is overbluffing in this spot you are for sure calling too much here if you are going to call him down with 99.

ClouD87   Italy. Jan 09 2017 21:28. Posts 524

if he is overbluffing i need to call with any2 cards i have by the river. i also dont have 44 in my range. it's definitely a situation where his range has more equity than mine on every street

The thing is... I don't understand why would you think he s overbluffing here, his range is is almost fully covered by the river, even the bluffing one.

You re prob right about A2-A5s (w/o A4s), but only the clubs continue firing turn, which kinda makes about 6 combos of bluffs total even with all 78s combos
Other type of bluffrange could be K6-K8s which probably doesnt play like this and ATs/9Ts which hits.

Thats why I asked about a bluffing range, cuz there s shitton of value combos he has here

There is no way he s overbluffing this board BTvCO. I doubt he CAN overbluff it even if he s 3barreling his whole preflop range.

Wanna see where i fail my logic if anywhere :/

I think a very fair argument is that he has very few value hands that actually bet the river. Sure, you lose against a wide range of the would-be bluff range (k6-k8) - but k6-k8 has so much showdown value that it's just gonna check behind on river most of the time. well I guess k6 might vbet but not k7.

I count: 6 combos of AA, 12 AK, avg. 5 combos of KQ, 3 KJs, maybe 1 KK that didn't check the turn, 1 T9s because he will most likely not 3bet all of them, 3 combos of jacks, avg. 3 combos of ATs. total 34 value. I just assumed he would bluff everything that barrels the turn and that he would barrel the turn with every low suited ace because king is the best card for him, which is a range of 4 combos of 78s and 12 combos of A2s, A3s, A5s and 3 of A4s. total 17 bluffs. I also assume he would actually not valuebet all his AA or AK because games run rather tight here and people rather make a hero fold here than hero call. That's why I made the call. It's thin and based on many assumptions but I am willing to make the call rather than fold and not trust my read.

his hand was a mandatory bluff though, unsure how you can reach the conclusion that he's overbluffing but it certainly shouldn't be from this showdown

Im not sure what to do tomorrow when I see her, should I shake her hand?? -Floofy

oh you wrote jacks instead of JJ so I missed it lol, I mean it could be an exploit but a hand like A5hh should probably be a check on the turn much more often than not

258 to win 568 on river.
Estimated 17 bluffs and 34 value hands.
The odds are there if assumptions are correct.
Cloud on another level. Wish I could learn from you one day. haha

Cool thanks for the detailed explanation. Only thing I disagree with is the 1 combo of KK, he should be betting all of them on the turn.
