This is not generally the best bluffing hand in this kind of spot obviously so it very well may be an exploit but it is hard to say exactly without having a look at how Trueteller plays his SB vs BB pre since peoples strategies there vary so much. It looks like Trueteller plays about 30% complete/40% raise in the SB vs BB and uses a pretty heavily mixed strategy. It looks like more often than not he will be completing the SB with 910o (while Fish has all 16 910 combos = lower cbet from TT). He also completes most of the better bluffing hands like 56/K9/K10/Q9/Q10/T6s. It is also a spot where while Trueteller is uncapped and has overpairs/all sets/910s, Fish has all of the unsuited 2pairs and straights (making their equities close) and True is OOP on a dynamic board (big disadvantage) so true will check flop frequently.
Flop betting range for Trueteller will be small and strong so many of the bluffs by river will be flushdraws. A lot of the gutters are eliminated pre and even out of the suited ones that do make it to flop, some % will check there rather than bet. I doubt he has nearly enough 2 barrel combos that get to river and make better bluffs than the missed FDs to then balance out his river value range. True is polar enough and the river is such that basically anything that was Vbetting flop and turn can still Vbet river so he doesn't have anything that he can turn into a bluff (Only pairs in his range that can even reasonably bluff are 56s and maybe 45s since they can 2 barrel as SDs. All the other pairs in river range are top pair+). Also A6ss does not block as many hands in Fish's call/call/fold range as NFDs usually do in 3 barreled pots because both cards are used in several combo draws that get raised earlier in the hand at some decent frequency. It may work out that this is actually a balanced play, at the very least it isn't super out of line. |

nice analysis.
he has a lot of offsuit hands in proportion to flush draws, compared to other positions. this is 70% vpip on sb. As6s could actually be one of the better bluffing hands even if it has this showdown value. one might think that Kxss or Qxss is worse, since villian will think those hands bluff more than As6s and be less inclined to call with KsJ, QsJ, than AsJ. Card removal isn't always so obvious.
