I think he is more trying to rep a 9 than the nut flush. He still has the single most relevant blocker to the hands he is getting called by, so it doesn't much matter that that blocker would be what enables him to have the nut flush, does it?
EDIT not saying I think the bluff is good, I have no idea. Ac clearly has useful blocking properties though
