this is not a flop you usually look to slowplay KK on

I wasn't slow playing. I was making sure I wasn't donating $. Sorry I don't like to play KK that aggressively unless I have a good read.

I'm forced to agree with PoorUser, how do you expect to get a "good read" without betting that flop. By playing it the way you did, you ensure draws to come cheaply, get little information, and in the end will usually lose a much larger pot when you really are beat because you will find out on a later street. It's a multi-way pot on the flop, I don't understand how you check... !?!

Your play was fine except for the fact that a check-raise then check is a really weak play. It'd be a better idea to just lead out since you could be giving strong draws free cards as well.

Depends on the number of preflop callers. In this situation it was advantageous for me to check on the flop to get more info. When there are 4 preflop callers I play a lot more cautiously. I don't mind if they outdraw me I will just fold to large bets. KK w/ 4 callers and no set is a recipe for disaster when you make huge bets.
