he timed out, I really doubt this is intentional

I timed out on quad aces facing all in for 6x BI pot @ 200NL. I shrugged it off but it will carry on in my mind forever.

i timed out because it was a close decision, so it was intentional. I already simmed it and it's mixed jam/check here. The solver doesn't jam pocket KK here because that's too thin. Really it comes down to how often they are check/calling the flop with AK. If they never do it, it's a clear check with 77.

woah.... im a micro player so this not a criticism by any means but i just dont understand:

1) why wouldnt solver shove KK here? is it against a particular opponent?

2) if we are not shoving, cause we may not get called by worst hands why not vbet small $80-100

I would shove here myself

If they have AQo in 3bet range then Jamming any set is fine. If they don't it's quite close. AQs, AJs, ATs are all hero calls vs a jam here. The only hand you know for sure that is calling is AKo.

My guess is at microstakes regs are not perceptive of an utg flat range, and that it has all AKo combos. preflop tendencies at those stakes are more irregular, less predictable. So they won't mix in AKo c/c on flop. They will prob bet too many AQs, AJs on flop. Not sure about AA.

TopKat is a strong player so he c/c flop with AKo.

i ran with monker ranges rather than population ranges, and indeed all sets were jamming 100% freq. 77 gained 30 chips from jamming over checking. is that about the same ev as your sim?

well, I'm just saying but considering how aggro you generally are and it still being 30chip(is that bb or $$?) doesn't that make it jam?

Stroggoz   New Zealand. Apr 21 2020 03:21. Posts 5330

$30, or $7 if i include donk leading ranges on river. This is using monker ranges with no nodelocking. Ran a few different sims with other results. In anycase, hardly a trivial jam when the ev's are close using monker ranges.

I'm not too aggro, basically play quite close to standard and sometimes i try to exploit by playing nitty, and sometimes by playing more aggro. (a lot of the time i get it wrong, such as in this hand). I think im about average.

I suppose it is UTG open vs SB 3-bet...

Oddeye   Canada. Apr 21 2020 16:11. Posts 5106

At smaller stake I don't think you'll see many check call on turn with AK(even flop would be rare), at least not from regular from those stakes. That you put a lot of thought into that check proves you are a good player. I still think you "might"(maybe not) have had some missed draw and a hero call from him might be in order from his perspective. I'm not very familiar with the monkerrange or solver programs,

Either way, good to hear your thoughts.
