Im really not a big fan of the river check tbh
Sure he bets 88/TT but those also call your river shove. 2p also call shoves, something like a rivered A9cc may also call river shove.
only thing he might bet is a 67 as a bluff after you check.
89/9T/9J all check back river with showdown value

I think he can have a lot of weird pair + draw/bd draw hands that decides to bluff river. The card is just so damned good for my range that it seems very difficult to get any kind of value. He might fold a 2 pair? As you said, when checked any 2 pair will shove river anyway. I might miss value from some hands that check back, but I still think his bluffs will make up for it. My hand just sorta screams KK/QQ/JK/JQ, that ought to fold to a shove (?). My thinking might be flawed tho |

Well KK/QQ might not fold, but I'm talking hands like T9, QT etc that will fold to river shove |

Ok but just taking what you said yourself - if that card is much better for your range than villains, the only way villain should be shoving here is if he DOES have a nutted type hand. If he shoves as a bluff then its just a spazzy mistake. |
