My original intention was to call for the gutshot, stack him if I I made it on the turn and fold otherwise. Then I became an open ender on the turn. So while on tilt I decided to take the river card check/fold anything that didn't complete my draw. Floating the flop with the intention of stacking the opponent on the turn has played out well usually. Except I usually do that with a flush draw or an open ender or the open ended flush draw.
