I don't like this. I think you really only have 2 options here. The weak valuebet is going to fold him if he's not calling either way, and it'll probably be viewed as a bluff less often at these stakes.

1. Bet 2.5/3 on the turn, I'm leaning towards 3 because it looks a lot more like your not interested in him calling you down.

Or.

2. Check behind, you've got the nuts and you have the chance you might induce a river bluff which you can then raise an amount that he might also think is a bluff, perhaps even shove.

I wouldnt advice option 1, many players at these stakes are calling stations and if they dont call $1.40 , they wont call $3.
Option 2 is legitimate, but I dont think your turn bet is that bad, many people will still call if they some kind of a hand and by inducing weakness you can provoke a bluff and
