is this the best line or just continue betting on the turn?

I guess he feels pot comitted this way but i also give him a free card if he checks

Depends on your image and your opponent imo
If u cbet a lot and opponents start floating you quite a bit its good to check turn cuz they might wanna take it away from you.
Also you dont mind giving a free card here too much if he checks behind.
