ya i paid him off to see what he had. i know i overplayed my hand. i did think about it for almost full time before i called. i really didn't think he had a set and i thought about 89 but just didn't believe he would play that after preflop action.
he said he called out of position to a large raise with that hand heads up because of his "implied odds" i could understand if there was a couple other callers in but it was just heads up.
i mean is it really a good play by his part to call with that hand preflop?

if you pay him off, yes.
call with 98s?
at lower limits, eh.
at middle limits, no.
at high limits, probably. |

it is just hard.. i have found it very unprofitable to fold overpairs on boards like that at these limits.
i had to cash out basically my whole bankroll to pay for school stuff so i am starting all over again.
i can play .25/.5 and .5/1 much better than i can these limits as weird as it seems to me. |
