well, if he has 1/4 of his stack left with kk vs jj after preflop action then obviously he played it right and you did not.
in general, a "set value call" would be a preflop reraise call.
lets say you raise with jj, youre reraised and you are sure you are up against a higher pair but you call anyway, hoping to hit a set.
the idea here is to use implied odds and go set hunting. seeing as you have about 1/8 chance to hit your set on the flop its pretty easy to do the math. |
