usually just connectors and 1 aparts. I only play them if there has been preflop aggression by a relatively passive person. I'm hoping to be up against Aces or Kings. I also only play them if the preflop call is 5% of my stack or less, it also has to be 5% of his stack or less too for the play to be profitable. You only really hit like 10% of the time so you need compensate generously when you do. Also, I like calling raises that are 3X or 4X the BB. If it's 5X the big blind, the person likely has AK or TT-JJ and would rather just pick up the blinds right there. The play is much more profitable against AA or KK instead of JJ. I also need them to be in the position of preflop aggressor because i can better control the pot in that manner and build it up when I'm ahead in the hand and call it down if I have the right odds |
