Heh, dunno, maybe this is standard call, wasn't quite sure what to think there. But it was weird bet for valuebet and he spoke stuff so it seemed that he wasn't quite as comfortable as he should be. duno. |

since the pot is unraised, i bet any turn but an A as well. if the pot was raised i would check behind because it's so much more likely that somebody has a better kicker / better hand, and controlling potsize becomes important. however, whether the turn is a spade or not, i bet again in this scenario. you're much more likely to get somebody calling down w/ JT/J9/J8. your only reasonable fear is KJ, but a lot of people raise that hand so don't get too scared of it. most people raise AJ preflop, whether it's a good idea or not.
i would bet the turn again, given that it was a spade, even in a raised pot. of course i would hate to get check/raised, but for the most part only really big hands (set+) would be taking this line in a raised pot, so as long as the c/r wasn't too much, you'd probably have great implied odds to call and zero reverse implied odds if you don't hit your flush.
so yeah bet this turn almost 100%. only time you shouldn't bet is when the pot is raised and the turn isn't a spade, or possibly when an A lands in any pot.
if you have more opponents everything is different of course. being HU is key |
