i think checking this flop makes your hand very transparent on later streets. if you raise from EP and then check on THIS flop, you're either done with the hand or have something huge. so if you come out betting later, you're obviously not done with the hand

continue on flop for deceptive value imo

a lot of the time, probably more often than not, i make a regular continuation bet here. i just felt under the circumstances there was too much more value in checking the flop.

my thoughts were:

i had been sitting at the table for a while, and they were respecting my continuation bets way too much. i felt like there was about zero chance one of these players would try to make a play at the pot with air. i also think that if one of the other players has a flush draw when i check the flop, they're more likely to bet than to check behind anyway because nobody in their right mind would try to slowplay a high PP on that flop, so they can logically think i missed the flop with high cards and assume they have a lot of equity to take it down right there, and no reason to believe their flush outs aren't good. if they happen to have a 5 or hit a flush later on i can probably get it all in anyway.

i disagree about my hand being transparent, because if they were paying any attention (again, we had all been sitting at the table for a while) they'd know 66 (or any 5 for that matter) is definitely not in my normal EP raising range. i think you might be underestimating the value i get from checking and letting people hit their top pair..of course the turn and river ended up being great cards for me, but regardless anyone who hits their top pair is going to pay off reasonable bets from me.

i think the way the hand was played he probably put me on exactly AK and wanted to push me off the split pot on the river.
