I feel like there's a better way to play this.
when he called my bet and the other guy raised all in, I wasnt sure what to do. If i call should i give him credit for not bluffing a dry sidepot and fold if he raises? Do I have to raise to isolate? Should I have bet 17 so if the shortstack did push it's not a legal raise, or do i want the option of reraising him?
I just feel like i put more money in than i should have to find out im behind (1/3 my stack). |

I really liked how you played the hand. I think the isolation raise over the small stack's all-in is definitly nessasary, since you don't want the other guy hang around with a possible AX flush draw. You also define your hand to the other guy, showing him you indeed do have a big pair like you were representing in your original flop bet. Your raise makes future decisions according to what the other guy does in response to it much easier for you. If you flat called the short stack's all-in, the other guy might think a hand like TT, JJ, or QQ might be the best at the time and try to isolate the short stack because you were playing your KK much slower... and you might find yourself in a huge pickle if he decides to come over the top of your smooth call.
I think you played it great. |
