I think if you raise the flop harder and he calls you can't continue on the turn otherwise you're basically commiting yourself on the river.

wtf unless villian would put hero on air and call him down with like KJ-high he can't possibly call a riverraise with worse. Every fucking combodraw got there and has at least 2 pair or a straight so the worst someone somewhat sane would ever call a riverraise with is a set. Unless he's superstupid, that is, but the point is that KJ-high and AA has pretty much the same value except for when someone decides to bluff with something that randomly has a piece of that. I would never raise this river unless I had a read.

yea, I missed that, but he's not super-short and the fact that he is short makes it even less likely that someone would try to bluff him. Also, if he has hero on air he should just c/c with something he think is good and bet/fold with stuff without showdown value. He's betting, so he either has something that crushes whatever calling/raising range he has hero on or he has air. Either way we'll never win anything by raising and we'll lose extra everytime he is ahead of us.

for the record i like how asdf2000 played this hand, a small river raise is an ok option though.

Raising flop to know if he got air or pocket is good.. (he called with air, that sux but it happens)
then you check turn cause his flop call was curious + its a shortstack so i dont see him calling flop with air but the way i play, i def bet this turn, its depends, cause to my eyes your flop raise was a semi-bluff-probe bet i think by betting the turn you make sur he didnt call the flop with air and i call a push, cause by bluffing here i accept being beat and call if he push and im dumb and dont like to bluffed when i bluff so i go with it (40 left to call) ... and more i think about it more i think checking is the best play, im not sur what is THE REAL best play o_O
