Yes, bet the turn obviously. Make str8 draws pay. And if this guy is loose passive, then he'll pay you off w/ an 8 or a 9. And it looks like he is. |

hmm i disagree
i think checking the turn here (sometimes) is a really great way to extract value.
its much more likely when he called the flop that he has a weak pair instead of a draw. he'll probably fold his weak pair to a 2nd barrel, so checking allows you to pick up some value w/ a river bet.
i do this line alot esp vs players who like to call on flops w/ small PP or weak pairs (as this player did)
i'd be a LITTLE wary of betting so hard when that king falls. alot of players (esp at 2/4) LOVE putting you on AK. since you're trying to get value out of weak pairs, you might want to bet closer to 60$, as most weak pairs will call that bet significantly more often.
if you like the idea of bet/check/bet for value and start doing it regularly, be sure to occasionally bet the turn w/ overpairs (like in this hand) so that people will believe your 2 barrels more |
