ugh...
one pair is a weak hand. with weak hands you try to keep the pot small. just flat call river.
especially with straight and flush very possible this is turning a good hand into a bluff |

oh shit yeah, good point FA: raise pre-flop always if you want to play this hand! and don't call anything except a microbet after you continuation bet and get called. |

Just calling isn't THAT awful as long as you don't go crazy in a multi-way pot with top pair.. |

My logic at the time.
His flop bet was a continuation bet, I thought a call with two overcards could be justified. When he raised on the turn I put him on a Jack pair and wanted to stay in as with 8 outs and good implied odds 20 into 75 wasn't a bad call. When I saw K on the river I wanted to abuse my image as a weak caller and make him reraise so I checked and he did as I expected. Unfortunately he had a 2 pair. |
