Hey art.. about this hand, we start to be a bit in deep money. I knew that your 7$ raise onflop could be a "test" to see if I m on an Ax since you're not one of those tight weak players. Many "serious" players at this limit will fold here with an Ax, but when you start geting to higher limits you'll see it's no longer the case (in fact at N100 it starts to be a lot more agressive already).
The idea is that besides having 6 potential outs and a backdoor flush, I have position on you, and I know you don't necessarily have a set and that after my call you can give me some credit for a hand.. on the turn when you bet 11$ I figured you probably had a set (you should bet more though, like logiabs points out.. if you bet 20$ on turn I fold.. but of course you put me on an overpair so you want me to pay.. that's the problem of many players at low limits : too much milking - or slowplaying for some - based on their read, when a read is never something 100% guaranteed.. of course it works well at NL50, but it starts working less well later on).. If you had bet any weaker or checked on turn I'd have attempted to take the pot (and if the turn was a T for instance instead of the 8, since you're a decent player I would probably have succeded). For 11$ trying to hit the flush while you probably put me on a pp was of course worth it.
It's all about agression.
Anyway see you around and I'm sure you'll get your revenge . Probably going to stay on NL50 for a while to tweak my play and try to get rid of the occasional "stupid play" tilts.. |
