1. Deactivation of phases often results in higher overall costs .
2. More quality assurance activities throughout the whole development often offer lower cost.
3. Efficient early phase software assurance activities reduce the overall costs to a much lower amount.
4. Defects left to Operation phase results in very high cost, they should be reduced as much as possible.
