Thats a pretty nice read you had on the guy. (Hoping it was a good read that made you do it and not just some random shot in the dark) |

wow, how did you know? |
Can never be 100% sure but here's what I was thinking.
His preflop raise. 97x flop. First of all it's not so likely he's raising 9x (yet it is possible), then also overbetting the pot on flop (doubtful with just a 9 there), he probably doesn't have the nine. Also the continuation bet on turn tells me he is very unlikely to have the 9. He could have an overpair, maybe nothing, we're not sure yet. I thought he would be on nothing and possibly an overpair. I'm calling him down to check it out.
Then the river falls a nine. If he indeed has an overpair this river could be my card instead of his. Betting it is already quite risky for him (in case of overpair), but overbetting it is so ridiculous, doesn't happen. He should be scared shitless of this river instead of going berzerk.
So he doesn't have a nine, nor overpair. My sevens are good.
edit: he's also not very good, allowing me to fall back on this read |
