Was this avoidable or inevitable? I played this hand to hit an A or K, there was no way I was hitting and not shoving.

fold or push preflop

my lose is a win. my wins are nothing.

With AKo? Surely I'll lose far more that way. Only hands that'd call that have me beat. If I reassess on the flop I can decide whether I have lesser hands (QQ, JJ, AQ, KQ etc) beat before I commit fully.

Can you explain in more depth or link me to an explanation? What hands should I be shoving with pf? When? etc

hey guys just curious, why would u push here? in case he's 3 betting light?

i mean the guy is right, AK is fucked against a normal 3bet hand, wouldnt that be just putting your chips on the table for them?

i woulda thought instant-fold here unless he has whack stats

He 4bet cold pre, if you think he's a complete donkey - push, otherwise fold. I'd usually fold here I think.

Cause any king or ace is going to scare TT-QQ and obv wont scare KK-AA.

So you push cause he folds some hands he shouldn't fold/calls some hands you are a flip vs/calls some hands you dominate (more likely if he sucks, ie calling with AQ) and you still lose vs AA and KK just as when you call to hit a flop.

Hm.. Off-suite socks..Last edit: 29/10/2007 08:53

I fold unless he seems like a overaggro donkey or if we have history, in which case I push. I never ever in the history of mankind call here.

I was going through my drawer about 7-8 months ago and I found 2 odd socks - first thought was "off-suite socks" -.-
